Manna Program - A
Simple Explanation of the Manna Program
The Incarnation Manna program is a program in which you buy gift
certificates for participating vendors (see listing below) for face value
and
in return you or someone you designate, receive a tuition credit. Incarnation
School also receives a credit on each purchase.
What is the benefit of participating in the Manna program?
When you participate in Manna – two parties benefit – you
earn a tuition
credit and Incarnation School earns money also, which helps keep tuition
costs down. Families who participate in Manna have saved over $500 a year
in tuition costs. You participate as much or as little as you want, there
are no
contracts, no minimums, just a little planning on your part to buy Manna
before shopping!
How much money can I really save?
It depends on how much you buy. Everything is split 50/50 between you
and
the school – profit and cost. For example let’s use a probable
one-week
purchase and the percentage discount for each vendor. (Remember that the
Manna company charges us a 1% administrative charge on all purchases.
Dominicks(5%) $100
Your tuition credit = $2
School credit = $2
Admin.fee = $1
McDonalds (10%) $20
Your tuition credit = .90¢
School credit = .90¢
Admin.fee = .20¢
Speedway (5%) $25
Your tuition credit = .50¢
School credit = .50¢
Admin.fee = .25¢
So for this one week – you purchased $145 dollars in certificates
and will
receive a $3.40 tuition credit. If you did this same purchase every week
for a
year – your tuition savings would be $176.80 – and this is
for money you
would have to spend anyway.
As you can see, the more you buy – the more you save and higher
percentage
discounts provide greater credits. There are over 100 vendors available
to purchase.
When is Manna sold?
Manna is sold during the school year every Thursday during school pickup
from 2:00 - 3:00 in Bernardin Center. We also sell after 4:00 Mass on
Saturdays and after the 8:00 and 9:30 masses up until 11:00 on Sundays
in the back of Church.
If you wish you can fill out a Manna envelope with your order and payment
and send it with your student to the school's yellow counter on Monday
through Wednesday - we will fill those orders on Thursday and on the envelope
there is a box to check whether you wish to have the envelope returned
with the student or to be held for later pick-up.
Does Manna take credit cards for payment?
We only accept cash or check for payment
Manna Newsletters?
Every two weeks a Manna newsletter is sent home through the brown envelope
with up to date information and reminders regarding the Manna program.
Old issues can be found on the web site.
What do I need to do to get started?
All you need to do, if you’ve never purchased Manna, is stop by
the Manna
table during selling times, fill out a Manna envelope requesting the
certificates you need, make sure your name and phone number are written
on
the envelope and indicate who should receive the tuition credit –
that’s all! If
you are still unsure, ask the Manna seller to help you out – they
are
participants in the program too. We take care of the accounting end of
it and
4 times a year you will receive your Manna credit on your monthly tuition
statement.
I heard I can pay some credit card bills
with Manna?
Currently you can make payments on your Kohls and JCPenneys credit cards.
Purchase the amount you need from us and then when your at the store you
can pay the bill at customer service. The certificates should not be sent
through the mail for payment.
Can others buy for me?
Yes, you parents, siblings, neighbors, etc... can all buy Manna certificates
either through your envelope or if they want to stop by and purchase they
just
need to include your name on the Manna envelope.
What if I have a large order?
We carry most of our inventory in groceries, gas and Kohls. A couple hundred
dollar purchase in any of those vendors is usually handled with no
problem. However, if you need to get $500 in Menards or $200 in Olive
Garden ,for example – you should pay for it in advance ( by Sunday
) and we
will have the order filled for you by the following Thursday.
